The evaluation of my sources and their reliability can be found on a separate Microsoft Word document.
I have found more suitable articles today that suit my new articles better than those I have found previously. I am still using some articles I wanted to use when I found them in the past, but I feel as if the others focused on record labels too much and I believe I needed a wider view of the industry as a whole.
There are many different sections that work together to create the industry and I felt that it was important to understand that every person has their own experience with creating music and developing this into a viable career.
As I'm creating a music magazine, I need to represent these experiences in the industry. In order to make this happen, I am writing three articles. I have attempted to gather an equal amount of information for each of these articles throughout the ten pieces of research I have assessed.
The column that summarises the content of the articles is very useful for easily adding relevant information into my writing. It allows me to do this in a brief manner, reducing the facts down to their bare bones in order for my articles to flow better.
There may be a weakness in my sources, however, due to the nature of their publication. All of them are online articles that I have found through searching the information I believe I need. This means that I have targeted a very specific area of information, which could be seen as limiting. I chose online research as my main source because the articles presented the relevant facts and figures, explained by a writer who is experienced in the field. In their original publications, I may have found these very difficult to interpret and pick the useful parts. When the facts are presented in such a manner as my sources, I find it easy to see which ones are relevant, with any explanations making it easy for me to add them to my writing in a coherent and flowing way.
