Plan Review - September

 During the month of September, I completed my research and filled out the information in my source evaluation document. This ran a few days into October, because of a week of mock exams during school hours. This has not heavily impacted on my plans for October, however, as I only had a couple of sources left to evaluate, which were completed very easily once exams were finished. Each source has been evaluated in regards to it's reliability, considering it's author, the date it was written and any contextual factors that may influence the credibility of the article as a source. I have also written a summary of information from each source, allowing me to easily access the facts and figures necessary for writing an informative article. The final column of my evaluation table described how I was going to use these sources in my articles. I detailed the context they would be useful in and the type of information I felt would be best portrayed using the data from each article.

This process took a little bit longer than I would have like to due to the load of work I took on throughout the month. I hoped to add to the source evaluation document during the week and at weekends, but struggled to do the latter because of lengthy coursework pieces that had to be turned around fairly quickly. This meant that I very much only added to my source evaluation document on weekdays, but eventually finished it during my free periods and in-school EPQ lessons.

This month, I hope complete or be very near finishing my three articles for the magazine, and have made some progress for the design of the magazine itself. I believe this will be a time for a large step of development in my project due to the half-term break. I will have more time to work on my project as a whole and make some substantial progress. This goal will also be made easier as I will be able to ask for advice from my sister when using InDesign, whilst also having more time to learn from YouTube videos and other websites, in regards to my design skills.

I feared that again, due to coursework, that I would not be able to make the progress I would like to during October. I have yet to find this out, but I will ensure that I try my hardest to work on my project during the half-term break as I will have longer days with less classwork to complete.
